Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Hello, hello. Welcome to Being The Little Spoon!

I’m Daisy aka Little Spoon (she/her), the human behind the blog.

Here’s a little introduction to me and what I am all about.

I am a disabled queer femme in my late twenties, currently residing in the UK. I live with my amazing partner/Big Spoon (he/they) of 12 years and a lot of pet birds!

Mental Health & Chronic Illness

I am autistic with a whole other bunch of mental health diagnoses that I hope to raise awareness of by sharing my first hand experiences on this blog. At present I have a formal diagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD) and am currently receiving treatment for both. I also have provisional diagnoses of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), a dissociative disorderpremenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and a chronic pain condition. I struggle with self harm and am in recovery from an eating disorder.

So yeah, life is not the easiest sometimes, but I hope to spread some positivity by sharing my journey and a few spoonie life hacks!

Sex Positivity

I used to run a successful sex blog and that is where my writing roots lie. This blog will also be a sex and kink positive space aimed at folks age 18+ where I intend to share a bit of the knowledge that I gained over those years. I specialised in adult product reviews so you can expect to see a few of those on here as well as personal essays and musings.

Sustainable Living

A current value of mine is making the conscious effort to live more sustainably which I will also discuss on the blog. I am only making my first baby steps, from consuming fewer animal products to reducing my use of single use plastic. I have a strong ethical stance on animal testing and only promote cruelty free/vegan cosmetics and beauty products.

…and the rest!

My other passions include horror movies, heavy metal, alternative fashion and gaming (especially Pokémon!)

I am also an award winning burlesque artist and perform around the country.
