Uncover Creations Rymru Review

I’m back with part 2 of my reviews of some awesome silicone goodness from Uncover Creations; makers of highly customisable, colourful, hand-poured silicone fantasy sex toys.
This time we’re taking a look at the Uncover Creations Rymru dildo – let’s go!
Meet Rymru
The Rymru is a reptilian inspired fantasy design consisting of a pointed tip, graduated ribbed shaft that gently flares into a “knot” and a wide base with scaly details.
When customising my toy I selected the medium size and soft firmness. I left the colours up to the maker (the “Surprise Me Premium” option) and received this really fun neon (and glow in the dark!) green to pearlescent white fade which I actually love, especially as this is a combo I wouldn’t have thought of myself. The fade is really smooth and clearly poured with skill.
The Rymru comes in four different sizes (x-small, small, medium and large) and four firmnesses (medium, soft, super soft and squishy soft).
If you’ve already read my review of the Uncover Creations Arbora then you’ll know how important it is to pay attention to their size guides. My medium Arbora is a big toy, whereas I found the medium Rymru to be much more modest.
Medium (specs as they appear on the Uncover Creations website)
- Tip Circumference: 4.3″ / 10.8cm
- Knot or Middle Circumference: 6.3″ / 16cm
- Shaft Circumference: 5″ / 12.6cm
- Insertable Length: 5.7″ / 14.5cm
- Total Length: 7.4″ / 18.8cm
- Base Circumference: 13″ / 33cm
When I placed my order, it only available in the medium size option detailed above which I would have chosen anyway based on the insertable length which at around 6 inches is my ideal for vaginal use, and the 6.3 inch maximum circumference is around my sweet spot that I can usually take comfortably with minimal prep.
As the majority of the shaft is fairly slim (to me) I went with the soft firmness, instead of the super soft that I chose for the thicker and heavily textured Arbora, which coupled with the generous wide base means my Rymru is able to stand proud by itself. The silicone has a smooth, slightly glossy finish (unlike the “grabby” matte of my Arbora) which lubes up like a dream.
My thoughts?
I think the Uncover Creations Rymru would make a really nice introduction for folks who are new to the world of fantasy dildos.
The shape is distinctively non-human while also not being too crazy or obviously based on a real animal penis (a personal turn off). The tip is pointed and the shaft has a gentle taper which I find really comfortable to take from a “cold start” as I had expected. The gentle ridges are noticeable but comfortable and do not cause the “cheese grater” effect that more heavily textured toys can produce, especially at this firmness.
On the topic of firmness, I am happy with my choice of soft over super soft for the medium Rymru. As much as I loooove some squish, I think any softer and the ridges would lose their definition and become significantly less stimulating, and the slim(ish) shaft would be a bit too floppy to put adequate pressure on internal hotspots and also fiddly to insert.
A thing I really like about this design is how the shaft gradually tapers towards the knot rather than having the knot balloon out abruptly as often seen on more canine inspired designs. I find this extremely comfortable for casual use and, after a little warm up, it’s not much of a challenge. I can see myself upgrading to the large model, but think it’s great that there are two sizes smaller for those who are “beginners” (hate that term but can’t think of a better one right now!) or simply prefer less girth but would like to experiment with knotted toys. Additionally, the shorter insertable length of the small and x-small may mean that some users with vulvas can also make use of the scaly base as a fun surface to grind on for some hands-free clitoral stimulation at the same time as being penetrated!
Speaking of, the wide and weighty base is fantastic for those who like to get on top and ride their toys – but this is something I generally don’t enjoy or attempt very often. I have pretty average size hands and find the base a little too wide to hold and comfortably thrust for any significant period of time.
However and luckily, I am also the (spoiled) owner of an F-Machine Pro III (aka my ultimate sexy accessibility aid!) and for me this is really the only way to make proper use of dildos of this ilk without a partner present to help out.
The takeaway
The Rymru is what I would call an entry level fantasy toy. It’s a monster, but not a MONSTER!
It has plenty of elements of interest (the three ridges down the shaft, the graduated knot and the scaly base) but in the medium size (and below), none of these are too extreme, intense or overwhelming. There are no dramatic curves, sudden swelling or heavy texture that takes a moment to adjust to. It’s just a really comfy ride and a toy I reach for often!
I’ll end on my usual spiel when it comes to dildos that have customisable size options: really check the size charts carefully to avoid disappointment.
